Lavender

 

Lavender is a plant, an herb and an essential oil. It is best known for its relaxing properties. The plant itself is grown as a bush with small purple flowers. The purple flowers are harvested and used as an herb. There are several strains of the lavender plant and one is grown to be edible. Several of the strains are made into essential oils but only one strain is safe to use in tinctures and teas unless otherwise specific or prescribed by a professional. Use as a natural or herbal product.

The benefits of lavender are antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, antidepressant, antispasmodic and can be used for calming, relaxation, cuts, and bruises. Lavender in the past been used to treat Crohns disease, Depression, disinfectant, aches, pains, headaches, fever blisters, urinary tract and bladder infections, cold, flu, bronchitis and herpes outbreaks to name a few. Most widely used by most people who know of its properties use it for relaxation and its sedative properties for sleeping and insomnia.

Please use under a professional's direction unless burning the oil in a diffuser or just on scent sticks around your house.
